Get Secure Florida's Headline News Using Our RSS Feed

Here is the link for our RSS feed.

What is RSS?
RSS is a family of Web feed formats that are used to distribute Web content, such as news headlines. These Web feeds allow a user to be notified of new Web content without having to actively check for it.

What does RSS stand for?
The initials "RSS" are used to refer to the following standards:

  • Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
  • Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0)
  • RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0)

How do I read the Secure Florida RSS Newsfeed?
There are several ways to access our data feed.

1. Download and install a piece of software called an RSS reader, also called a news aggregator. You can search for the RSS reader that best suits your needs at RSS Compendium.

2. Use an online RSS reader. Yahoo, Google, and other Web sites offer the ability to set up your news feeds online and view them from any browser. The RSS Compendium has a list of Web-based RSS readers.

3. Get news feeds through your Web browser. If you use the Firefox browser, you can receive feeds from your tool bar by using the Live Bookmarks function. There are also quite a few Firefox news reader extensions. Using Internet Explorer 7, you can add RSS feeds to the Favorites Center by clicking the subscribe button. Internet Explorer 6.0 doesn't have an integrated news reader, but news reader plugins are available.

Still doesn't make sense to you?
There's a great video that explains RSS feeds in a humorous, easy-to-understand way. It's called RSS in Plain English. Many thanks to Lee LeFever at for putting this video together.
